Meet Representative Tracy Miller
Tracy Miller is serving her first term representing District 45 in the Utah House of Representatives. Tracy has lived in South Jordan for the past 20 years. She is the proud mother of three children and one daughter-in-law and has been married to her husband, Mike, for 30 years. She left her career in healthcare administration when her second child was born and loves being with her kids. As their kids grew older, Tracy began volunteering in schools and serving on district, city, and state-level committees. She loves our community and is grateful for the opportunities she's had to serve and make a difference.
She received her Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management with a Minor in Economics from Utah State University. Tracy also earned her Master's in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University.
Tracy serves on the House Education Committee, the House Political Subdivisions Committee, the Public Education Appropriations Committee, and the Interim Revenue and Taxation Committee.
Prior to her election to the Legislature, Tracy represented this community on the Jordan Board of Education for eight years, including four years as president. Tracy currently serves on the Jordan Education Foundation Board of Directors. She has served on various committees and task forces, including the Point of the Mountain Working Group and the State Office of Education Computer Literacy Task Force, and was the Utah PTA Trust Lands Specialist. Tracy is the recipient of the Utah PTA Friend of Children Award and the Boy Scouts of America District Award of Merit.
During her first term, Tracy sponsored and passed legislation to strengthen parental involvement in schools, reduce regulation to increase the availability of childcare, and expand the child tax credit so more young families can keep their hard-earned money.
Tracy has a track record of being a positive, consistent voice of reason for our community. She asks the hard questions, listens intently, and collaborates with others on solutions. Her focus is good policy - not politics. With a proven record of public service and deep legislative knowledge and relationships, Tracy will continue to be an effective voice for our community at the State Capitol.
